The motion carried by the following vote: Votes: Councilmember Excused: Member Brooks Councilmember Aye: Member Kaplan, Member Kernighan and Chair Nadel The committee directed staff to submit the following information in a follow-up report 1) Provide list of lessees and information on Caltrans leases of under-freeway space. Are lease language in place where Caltrans can control blight on leased properties? Which party (Caltrans, the City, or lessee) is responsible to maintain and abate blight in these areas, including sidewalks under freeways? 2) What is Caltrans' commitment per the Letter of Understanding (LOU)? What does "monthly clean-up' entail? What is being cleaned? And 4) Research and provide details from Caltrans Maintenance Agreements for select locations (Hwy 880 crossing; 34th / Hollis Street; Oak Street).
