The motion passed with the following vote: 5 Ayes: Kalb, Kaplan, Taylor, Thao, and Fortunato Bas; 1 No: Gallo; 2 Abstained: Fife and Ried Councilmember Taylor made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Gallo, to reconsider the vote on Item 7, and hearing no objections, the motion passed with the following vote: 6 Ayes: Gallo, Kalb, Reid, Taylor, Thao, and Fortunato Bas; 2 Nos: Fife and Kaplan The Council Committee approved recommendations as amended to include the following: From: President Fortunato Bas: The hiring panel are to exclude any police officers with a history of misconduct / police brutality.
