THE DECISION WAS MADE TO PROCEED, REVIEW THE ITEMS, AND TO TAKE AN ACTION AT A FUTURE EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP MEETING. The Committee requested the following information: 1) Specific recommendations to curb truancy; 2) Identification of resources needed for an additional District Attorney for tougher truancy cases, 3) Options to use police technicians to provide home visits for truant students, and 4) An elementary model that addresses the 11 schools with high truancy percentages.
