Provide a Long-Term Funding Solution for Maintenance of Measure DD\nImprovements.-Thanks to a one-time infusion of funds the lake landscaping will\nbe\nmaintained properly for at least a year but all of the Measure DD installations\nand the new medians need ongoing care if we wish to keep those areas up to\nstandards.\nd. Find a More Effective Way to Deal with the Homeless.-42% of all calls to\nthe Call Center this year were about homelessness, yet, real solutions have yet to\nbe found. It's a challenge that the City must confront.\ne. Increase Support to Neighborhood Groups and Stewards.-The\nEnvironmental Stewardship Team is building a strong program of support for\nvolunteers but more should be done to encourage the creation of new\nneighborhood park groups, especially in our less advantaged neighborhoods.\nNothing safeguards the health of a park better than the involvement of active\nvolunteers.\nf. Parks in Jeopardy-Make some difficult decisions about parks that have\nbeen abandoned to the elements. Should we close these parks or redesign them\nto require less maintenance and to attract neighborhood families?\ng. Stay Creative-Continue to explore alternative maintenance funding\napproaches such as conservancies, dedicated fees or taxes, private funding, etc.\n2. Provide alternative uses for parks that are no longer \"family friendly\" parks.\n3.
