Electors At A June 2, 2009 Special Election, A Proposed Ordinance Amending The Oakland
Municipal Code In Order To Provide For A Two Percent Surcharge To The City's Transient
Occupancy Tax (Hotel Tax) To Support The Oakland Zoo, The Oakland Museum of California,
Chabot Space And Science Center And The Cultural Arts Programs And Festivals

Councilmember Kaplan, that this matter be Adopted. The motion carried
by the following vote:
Votes: ORAICouncilmember Abstained: 1 - Councilmember Brooks
ORAICouncilmember Ayes: 7 - Councilmember De La Fuente, Councilmember
Kaplan, Councilmember Kernighan, Councilmember Nadel, Councilmember
Quan, Councilmember Reid and President of the Council Brunner
The City Attorney amended the title of the Resolution to include the following
language: ""Special Municipal Election that is not less than 88 days and no
more than 150 days after the date the Council passes this Resolution""
