Recommendation: A Report Requesting Approval Of The Proposed 2008 State Legislative
Agenda For The City Of Oakland

A motion was made by Councilmember Brooks, seconded by
Councilmember Reid, that this matter be Approved as Amended to include
the following priorities: 1) The clean up of the legislation associated with
the establishment of State Cable Franchises for the State of California, and
2) and Proposition 84 for support to the Museum, Zoo and Chabot Science
center receiving nature educational funds specifically for the non profit
programs. The motion carried by the following vote:
Votes: ORAICouncilmember Excused: 1 - Councilmember Brunner
ORAICouncilmember Ayes: 7 - Councilmember Brooks, Vice Mayor Chang,
Councilmember Kernighan, Councilmember Nadel, Councilmember Quan,
Councilmember Reid and President of the Council De La Fuente

Agency/Councilmember Brooks made a motion, seconded by
Agency/Councilmember Reid, to approve the 2008 State Priorities as amended
to two additional priorities: 1) The clean up of the legislation associated with
the establishment of State Cable Franchises for the State of California, 2) and
Proposition 84 for support to the Museum, Zoo and Chabot Science center
receiving nature educational funds specifically for the non profit programs; 3)
seismic retrofitting subsidies for residental dwellings to obtain compliance with
State retrofitting standards and clarifying the State regulations. and upon call
of the roll, the motion passed by Ayes: Agency/Councilmember. Chang,
Kernighan, Nadel, Quan - 4, Noes: Brooks, President De La Fuente - 2,
Abstain: Reid - 1, Excused: Brunner - 1
